Serious About Sustainability
Preserving the natural beauty of Saint Lucia is central to our ethos. At Cap Maison, we take thoughtful steps to minimise our environmental footprint while enhancing the guest experience. Our sustainability measures include:
- Solar panels installed across purpose-built flat roof spaces to maximise natural energy use
- A dedicated sewage treatment plant that recirculates grey water to irrigate our tropical gardens
- Upgraded air conditioning systems that use less power and can be centrally controlled to avoid unnecessary energy use in unoccupied rooms
- A reduction in single-use plastics: we partner with Antigua-based Neem Avenue to provide bathroom amenities in recycled containers that are cleaned, refilled, and reused. We also offer elegant glass bottles for drinking water, filled with Saint Lucia’s abundant and delicious rainforest spring water
- Rainwater catchment used for in-house laundry operations
- Collaboration with responsible tourism partners such as Wayaj, which provides sustainability ratings and carbon footprint assessments
- Support for local suppliers, drawing on Saint Lucia’s rich volcanic soil and farming heritage. Our menus feature island-grown ingredients and Caribbean coffee wherever possible
- Commitment to international suppliers who share our values, providing responsibly sourced furniture, food, and cleaning products
- A towel rotation policy that ensures we only launder towels guests wish to be washed
- All Cap Maison websites are hosted on servers powered exclusively by renewable energy
